Good Morning Class!

class class1

These stamps are custom made name stamps from a teacher who plans to use them as a gift to each of her student. Viewing the pictures of each student and drawing their smiley faces were so much joy. Sometimes I wish I could see how they react when they open this gift of love from their beloved teacher. ” You are unique and you are important to me.” The message behind the gift is so so powerful.

手工橡皮印章工作坊の手帕設計日 Stamp Workshop in August

IMG_1042

First Stamp Charity Project

wpid-wp-1404248091117.jpeg

First stamp charity project from DIY Eraser Stamp!

Rubber stamp carvers like me should realise that during the stamp-carving process, not only do we produce beautiful stamps, but also a lot of rubber residues/leftovers. Those little pieces of rubber are too much of a waste if being thrown away, and I always think of ways to utilize them.

In views of the growing population of the people in need in Hong Kong, I came up with an idea yesterday by carving small stamps with the little rubbers and raise a fund in my stamp booth ( July 19 & 20th, in APM Kwun Tong). I would set up a donation box in my booth and any one are welcome to donate a free amount of money. In return, they will receive a stamp from me. The donation will be 100% donated to 叙福樓集團有限公司 for their Suspended Meal Project ( Suspended Meal Restuarant List http://goo.gl/POHu8z ). Donation amount details will be posted afterwards,

This may be a beginning of something big. I welcome you all to participate. Thank you very much.

Stamp Workshop in July

More on Wood

IMG_3823

I love stamping on wood. Got myself some chopped wood circles (sorry I don’t know the right word for it) from home center yesterday, and I tried stamping on them with VersaCraft stamp ink. When trying to emboss the image, I found it not very successful. Usually it took 10-15 seconds for the heater to completely emboss the stamped image. But the giraffe took me a minute, the deer took me 90 seconds (and not comletely embossed) and the frog took forever! I gave up eventually. My guess was the wood was so thick and unprocessed that it absorbed the ink immediately, that the emboss powder had no effect on it. Also wood is a very strong heat absorbent, so the heater had less effect than before. Well, another thing I learned today.

What can I do with them? They look so pretty on desk as paper rest, or they can be framed to be decorations on the wall, or just anything you wish I guess!
